evil white box

I am my own little devil.

I always manage to tempt myself with the bad, the crazy, or in this case, the yummy!

Mum handed me a  box of see's almond/walnut squares after lunch yesterday, and instead of sharing with bro, I ran to my room, and wolfed down my delicious chocolate...

The same box is still hiding in one of my bedroom drawers :D

UGH.

Progress

I had a good week. :)

1. We started renovating the new office, and I couldn't be more excited! Sure, we're spending more than we had planned, but a nicer workplace will get everyone in the mood to work harder...besides the fact that we all deserve an office that's more conducive to work.

2. Jakes is getting so big, and active, and fun! He's smart, too! He's very keen on sights and sounds. Say hello to my little stress buster:

Isn't he the cutest?!

3. I know I just posted about this, but Im a much more confident driver now! Have been driving to work almost every day, drove myself to Makati and Manila, and even parallel parked on the streets! Richie and I are really proud of me. :p

4. Finally made time to go to the salon and get the haircut I so badly needed. Also had my eyebrows groomed. I felt great and tried experimenting at home, too. I managed to apply great looking french tip manicure and find a shade of eyeliner that doesnt make me look like a racoon! :)

(P.S. Im still on the lookout for extreme length waterproof mascara. any suggestions?!)

5. Found a new set of underwear that fit right!!! Bras and panties that look better, and more importantly....need NOT be adjusted every few minutes.

6. Have been visiting inquirer.net and learning a new word c/o dictionary.com daily.

7. Mastered the perfect blend for instant iced coffee (thanks, sannds!) and discovered a super yummy, super affordable (P65) cup of coffee to enjoy in toast box, trinoma.

8. Got to spend quality time with my friends and Richie's.

Yep. It was a good week, alright. :)

Back and in the zone!

Hello, world!

I disappeared for a while, and a lot has happened :) I have a ton of new discoveries about myself and would like to share them with everyone. Here are some from the top of my list:

1. I thirst to learn

People. Places. Events. How things work. EVERYTHING.

2. I long to see the world

Experience fast-paced cities, witness diverse cultures, behold the most beautiful works of creation,

3. I am too bratty for my own good. (And nearly-30-year-old brats are gross, not cute.)

It's about time I take more responsibility for my actions and choices.

4. I always succumb to bouts of laziness...and need to stop putting things off.

5. I could be, and should be...a better version of myself.

Writing down who I am and what I've discovered about me makes me feel pretty empowered…And I'm taking advantage of that empowerment by drafting a list of the things I feel can help me achieve all of the above. Here are my new half-year (July 2009!!!) resolutions, in no particular order:

1. Live a healthier lifestyle.

2. Look good, feel good.

3. Make more time for the people who matter most.

4. Learn something new every day.

5. Try something new at least once a month.

6. Get a move on (at least some)  new business ideas

*Rich and I always get these eureka moments and come up with business ideas over dinner, coffee, or even after poker...but they always end up as just ideas. what a waste!

7. Be really great at something by this same time next year! (okay, poker not included! :p ...but it wouldnt be hurt to be great at playing it, either! haha!)

8. Judge less.

9. Pray more.

10. Attempt to put a stop to negative thoughts (this one's a toughie! :p)

11. Stop complaining about the small things.

12. Do my fair share in saving the earth. im talking reusable goods. segregating trash. recycling, etc, etc.

Tidbit: my little sis sets a really good example to all... she's been a vegan for over a year now, which is a great way to be kind to the earth. If you want to try going V, my sister and her friend put up this blog called tsinayvegan.blogspot.com -- it's got great recipes, food finds, and useful articles/links. non-vegans are welcome to visit and try stuff out too!

Seeing all my thoughts listed down like this gives me a glimmer of hope. :)

...having everything clearly written on this public space could just be the pressure I need to do good on my promises to myself. Haha!

Oh! And I am keeping the name DUD because I still plan to post pictures of my outfits from time to time. I feel that it will help me keep making an effort to look good :)

Okay. So tomorrow, I will have my fresh start. :)

I know I can be better. Im sure I can be better. You know why? Here's a sign!

*above is a pic of our family van-- which i drove-- and parked between two cars (with no help!!!), just this morning! :)

**i know it doesnt really look like it's parked between two cars, but it really is! :) (and how many people can really parallel park?! im good! wheeee!!!). the angle is just bad because (while I was taking the shot) I caught a glimpse of this nosy guy watching me and suppressing a laugh-- he saw me trying to capture my proud moment on camera! grrr :p so, i was too embarrassed to take another shot!

Well, I think that's it! Wish me luck guys :) And watch out for a new and improved Audrey B. :)
